About Summit

How Summit started

In the back room of the ski lodge in 1987. Here’s the rest, what we believe and who leads us.

Our story

It started in the ski lodge

In 1987, a few families started meeting in the back room of the old ski lodge at 7:30 on Sunday mornings, so they could finish before the lifts opened. The lodge owner charged them in firewood.

We built our own place on Alpine Way in 1999, and we still start early. Locals, seasonal workers and people passing through all end up here at some point.

What we believe

What we believe

01

God made the mountains

Creation points us to a great and good God.

02

Jesus

He came down to rescue us and bring us home.

03

The Bible

We trust it to show us the way, and it has the final word.

04

Each other

We need each other, especially in February.

05

Our town

We help our neighbours, most of all when winter is hard.

Our team

Our team

Erik has been our pastor since 2008. He used to be a ski patroller and still keeps a radio on during Sunday lunch, just in case.
